From EMS, I kept getting the following error:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The term &#8216;New-MailboxImportRequest&#8217; is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I had to enter the following to get the necessary permission:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>New-ManagementRoleAssignment \u00e2\u20ac\u201cRole \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Mailbox Import Export\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u201cUser <em>UserImporting<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I did this for the Administrator account, so:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>New-ManagementRoleAssignment \u00e2\u20ac\u201cRole \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Mailbox Import Export\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u201cUser <em>Administrator<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Then, I was able to import the PST mail.  With following command the email was put back into the same folder as when the mail was exported:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>New-MailboxImportRequest -Mailbox <em>mailboxname<\/em> -FilePath <em>UNCToFile<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I imported the PST into a mailbox with an alias of jim:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>New-MailboxImportRequest -Mailbox <em>jim<\/em> -FilePath <em>\\\\SERVER1\\c$\\jim.pst<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was trying to use New-MailboxImportRequest to import a PST file into a mailbox.
