{"id":199,"date":"2008-12-06T07:56:02","date_gmt":"2008-12-06T15:56:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jim-zimmerman.com\/blog\/?p=199"},"modified":"2008-12-06T07:56:02","modified_gmt":"2008-12-06T15:56:02","slug":"dual-boot-macosx-and-fedora-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jim-zimmerman.com\/?p=199","title":{"rendered":"Dual boot MacOSX and Fedora 10."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This was on a MacBook Pro (Powerbook G4 &#8211; Early 2008 model) running Leopard.<\/p>\n<p>I went through the bootcamp procedure, and chose to install Windows.<br \/>\nI carved out 50GB of the 200GB drive.<br \/>\nInstalled Fedora 10 on that partition.<br \/>\nI installed the boot loader on the partition, NOT the MBR.<br \/>\nI found that it would always boot up Fedora at that point.<br \/>\nI thought that I had messed up the boot record at that point, so I tried to boot of the CD.<br \/>\nThat was when I discovered the &#8220;Hold down C at boot to force boot off CD.&#8221;<br \/>\nI did a repair on my MacOSX partition.  All checked out fine, as I had expected.<br \/>\nThen, I discovered the &#8220;Hold down the &#8220;option&#8221; key at boot to view all your boot options.<br \/>\nThere they were &#8220;MacOSX&#8221; and &#8220;Windows&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I am currently using this to boot the different operating systems.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This was on a MacBook Pro (Powerbook G4 &#8211; Early 2008 model) running Leopard.
